Styline was founded on a singular conviction: that the boundary between inside and outside should be invisible. From our manufacturing facility in Simi Valley, California, we engineer door and window systems with the industry's thinnest profiles — dissolving the frame so architecture can speak for itself.
Styline is a California-based manufacturer of ultra-minimal frame aluminum door and window systems. Founded in 2012, Styline produces the industry's thinnest profiles at 3/4 inch (19mm). All systems are thermally broken, NFRC rated, NAFS tested, and Title 24 compliant. Made in Simi Valley, CA, USA.

This story did not begin in a boardroom.
Styline grew from a family of glaziers, decades spent learning the behavior of glass, and the belief that architectural systems could be made with far greater refinement. Dylan Ward learned the trade beside his father, Samuel, then worked with him from a garage to turn that experience into a distinctly American minimal-frame system.
As President, Dylan carries that work forward by pairing Samuel's craftsman-level precision with modern engineering and controlled California manufacturing. The scale of the company has changed. The standard has not: every detail must earn its place, every system must serve the architecture, and Styline will remain American made.

Samuel Williams Ward
December 21, 1964 — July 7, 2026
Samuel Ward was a machinist, glazier, master craftsman, entrepreneur, father, and the founder whose pursuit of precision became Styline.
The Ward family's glazing history reaches back to the early 1970s, when Samuel's older brother, Jerry Kohl, entered the union trade installing storefront and curtain wall systems. Samuel spent his teenage years in and out of machine shops before joining the glazing trade in the 1980s. There he learned commercial systems and developed the fine, craftsman-level precision demanded by custom mirror and residential glass work at Perfection Reflections and Preferred Glass.
Samuel eventually established Accurate Glass and Mirror, then purchased Apollo Glazing in 2000. As expansive sliding doors and windows became a defining feature of high-end homes, he saw what the American market was missing: systems with the refinement, restraint, and architectural clarity beginning to emerge from Europe—but conceived and manufactured here.
Around 2010, Samuel and Dylan began developing that idea together from their garage. Their knowledge of storefronts, curtain walls, machinery, mirrors, and luxury residential glass converged in the first THINLINE systems. That work became Styline, founded in 2012, with a promise that remains permanent: to build a refined luxury door and window system in America, by American craftspeople.

1972
The family trade begins
Samuel’s older brother, Jerry Kohl, enters the union glazing industry, installing storefront and curtain wall systems.
1980s
Precision becomes a craft
After working in machine shops as a teenager, Samuel joins the glazing trade and masters storefronts, curtain walls, mirrors, and exacting residential glasswork.
2000
An independent path
Following the creation of Accurate Glass and Mirror, Samuel purchases Apollo Glazing and expands into the growing luxury residential market.
2010–2012
Styline takes shape
Samuel and Dylan work from their garage to develop a refined American minimal-frame system. The THINLINE series becomes the foundation of Styline.

The standard continues

Why Styline Exists
Traditional door and window systems were designed around the frame. The aluminum structure bears the load, resists the wind, and seals the weather — but it also dominates the view. At 2 to 4 inches wide, conventional profiles fragment the glass into compartments, interrupting the very transparency they're meant to provide.
Styline inverts this relationship. By engineering the glass itself as the structural element, we reduce the frame to its essential function: guiding motion and providing weather seal. The result is a vertical profile of just 3/4 of an inch — a dimension so minimal that the frame effectively disappears, leaving 99% uninterrupted glass.
Every Styline system is designed, engineered, and handcrafted in California. We control the entire process from raw aluminum extrusion to final assembly, ensuring the precision that ultra-minimal tolerances demand. This is not mass production — it's architectural fabrication at the highest level.

MANUFACTURING

Styline's manufacturing process begins with custom aluminum extrusions designed specifically for ultra-minimal tolerances. Each profile is precision-machined to within thousandths of an inch — the margin of error that separates a 3/4" system from a conventional frame.
Our thermal break insertion, hardware integration, and final assembly are performed by skilled technicians in our Simi Valley facility. Every unit undergoes pressure testing, operation cycling, and visual inspection before shipping.
With 20+ finish options across anodized and powder coat categories, each Styline system is built to order — configured to the exact dimensions, finish, glass specification, and hardware selection required by the project.
